Known for curating music for some of the worlds leading lifestyle brands and DJing at their parties, Simon surprises audiences with his genre defying style. London-born Simon Pang Washford began his DJ career in the summer of ‘89 on the island of Corfu in Greece.

After running his own pirate radio show in Sheffield, Simon returned to London, distributing imported jazz and hip hop to the city’s leading record stores while having DJ residencies in West London clubs like Ric-a-Tics, Breaking Point and The Hangover Grand.
By 1994 in East London, he was rocking the early Dazed & Confused nights, amongst the pioneering Rankin, Jefferson Hack, Damian Lazaurus, and Katy England. In 1998, Charly Records took notice and assigned Simon to head International Sales & Marketing, specializing in concept compilations before Kickin’ Records courted him to run their Sales Operation in 2000.

While DJ-ing across South East Asia, Simon moved to Beijing in 2001 before settling in Hong Kong a year later where he was sought by Ben Sherman to organize their very popular HK launch.

From 2003-2006, Simon was a resident DJ at the infamous Yumla club presenting Twice the Speed of Sugar and eventually as one-third of ‘Uptown Rockers’ with DJ partners Sean Fitzpatrick and Drafus Chow at premiere club ‘Volar’.

Nowadays Simon devotes most of his time to running ‘Stattus‘, the Hong Kong-based music consultancy he established back in 2003, specializing in music strategies for fashion and lifestyle brands and events.

Lane Crawford, Dunhill, IBM, The Discovery Channel, Stella McCartney, Adidas, and RBS are just a few of the International brands that have worked with Simon and the Stattus team to emotionally engage with their audience through music.
